Warby Parker: New Plam Canyon Collection!

140114_WPTA-Shot5_057

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you a pretty amazing company I just
recently had the pleasure of reviewing called Warby Parker. First off I did
not receive any type of compensation or free product for this post. This post is for all my fabulous fashionistas who know that a good pair of glasses or shades can make or break any outfit. As we know they can also spice up any outing, vacation or simple car ride!

140114_WPTA-Shot3_137A little about the company. Warby Parker’s objective is ” to create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point”. And so they have, one of these fashionable designer frames start at around $95 which is a decent price for a pair of glasses. Get your prescription from your optometrist or just at a local pharmacy that offers a quick vision service and you’re set. Since I am a shop-a-holic by trade I really enjoy when my money can stretch a little further not just in terms of a good sale but beyond that. When the proceeds go somewhere else that is a plus in my book. Giving a company my money only for them to turn around and give to the community is really inspiring. Warby Parker has a buy a pair, give a pair motto. Each sale of their frames goes to someone else in need. It may be small but think about how many people can work, go to school enjoy life with just a pair of lenses! Not only does Warby Parker give to those in need but they also focus on helping to train low-income women sell glasses in their communities by providing job growth and a gift that it’s much more valuable than money its self, which is how to be self-sufficient.

Another interesting option that Warby Parker offers is their home try-on service. You can pick any five glasses or sunglasses and Warby Parker will ship it to you free. You have five days to try them on and ship it back. You can purchase the pair you liked and the best part is that the cost for you to received and ship back is zero, zip, zilch, nada.

Much like Warby Parker believes that everyone has the right to see, I believe that everyone should have the right to looking fabulous. Take a look at their new Palm Canyon Collection these start at around $145. I have my eye’s (no pun intended) set on this little beauty. Mostly because I have a similar pair in black. I really like my current winged glasses but these would look great at work on day’s where I want to make a fashion statement AND feel confident.

I’m also looking at these sunglasses for my end of year trip to Africa and spring break trip to Mexico in March! I love how simple and clean they look but they also offer a unique edge to them which is another great aspect of fashion.

The names in this new Palm Canyon Collection are so fun it makes almost want to book a flight somewhere! Might as well travel in style if that’s the case.

Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor:Review

So todays’ reviews is going to be on the Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor that I received in my VoxBox compliments of Influenster!

I’ve always been a little picky when choosing my razors because of my sensitive skin. My skin (not my face, that’s forever oily) but the rest of my skin get’s dry pretty easily and if’ I’m not careful I get those awful bumps which comes from irritation. When choosing the right razor I’m also looking for a clean shave {since I have dark hair} a good razor is extremely important for me so that I don’t have to worry about it looking like I didn’t spend that dreaded 5-10 minutes shaving. Shaving is already a hassle let’s face it ladies we have our cave womans days and then our pretty princess days. Not every day is a pretty princess day.

I received this package as a complimentary gift from Influenster

No matter if you’re #teamforeveralone or #teamIlovemyboyfriend it’s important to find the right razor for your skin.

This razor has 5 blades with a protective ribbon around the blade for moisture. From the package you can also see that there is a hint of aloe, which if you have ever had a sunburn you already know that aloe is glorious for your skin. I actually enjoyed my shaving affair. Absolutely no skin irritation and it was a pretty close shave. Much like other reviews on my blog please feel free to try it for yourself, it was amazing for me and I just wanted to share in the joy. If you have tried it I would love to hear back from you, if not let me know too! All product reviews are to help us bloggers in the blogging community. Next time your reach for your regular razor give this one a try.

Out with the old and in with the new,  here’s to my old razor, sorry #itsnotme it you.

Leibster Award

I hope I’m doing this right. Here we go! Tania the beauty & brains behind a lovely blog called littleprettymess has nominated me for the Leibster Award. Thank you Tania! From my research the Leibster Award seems to be an award by bloggers for bloggers. Like those chain e-mails without the threat of bad luck, or your crush hating you for the rest of your life. In my opinion it’s a great way of finding a diamond in the ruff, in other words sharing/introducing smaller blogs to a larger audience.

Rules:
1) Thank & Link- Thank the person who nominated you! Link their blog to your post
2) Copy & Paste Award- Copy and Paste the Leibster Award in your post
3) Nominate- Nominate 10 other bloggers with 200 or less followers
4) Q&A- Answer the questions given to you (at the bottom of my post) Create a new set of questions for those you nominate.
5) Notify- Notify your nominee’s via comment

My questions to answer were:

1. What makes you get up in the morning?
I’m really good at living, everyday I challenge myself to live better than I did the day before.

2. What is your biggest dream?
I want to have an impact on the world somehow, something that I can leave behind for my family to continue if I am unable to achieve my goal. I would like to create a campaign that actually ended one of the problems that we have been trying to “help stop” for years.

3. What are your expectations from your blog?
When I first started I really didn’t expect much, this is actually my second Word Press account, on my non fashion blog I talk about my life, the world of human resources, being in the National Guard and my love of rain and cats. Here I thought it would be a good journal for my clothes, I was using an app to remember my outfits that I put together but a blog is so much more exhilarating!

4. What is your biggest default?
I set my expectations for others too high. Especially those very close to me. When they fail to meet those expectations I get disappointed.

5. What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is drowning, my cousin fell in a waterfall once when we were young, I reached out to grab her, slipped, and my uncle grabbed onto me, then jumped in to get her. At that moment I realized just how powerful mother nature can be, and how quickly a life can be lost in the depths of a body of water. There wear tears of joy and sadness all at the same time, ever since then I have this weird thing against the ocean, I don’t like being able to see the bottom and I don’t like not being able to see the bottom.

6. What is your favourite social network?
Tweet Tweet

7.What do you think people expect from reading your blog?
I’m not sure, but I would like to say than you to all my readers and that all grammatical errors and typos are my own.

I’m looking forward to watching these amazing blogs continue to grow and transform into something even better than what they are now! I hope you will check them out too!

1) Chic and Healthy : I found her blog last week and I’m so glad I did! Great style, great workout tips. She only has a few posts up but I know there is plenty more to come!

2) Incessant Ramblings: He writes some pretty good poetry, he is really talented at photo editing ladies and gentlemen I give you Incessant Ramblings. If you feel like pondering life this is the place to ponder.

3) Style Surani: I don’t know how she does it but she does it well. Always dressed to impress.

4) Red Tag Couture: Honestly If you haven’t heard of these two lovelies by now you’re missing out. Great style, great tips and great advice! And did I mention oh so supportive?

5) Glitter and Cool: Her fashion style is simple adorable! Elegant with a hint of mischief.

6) Long and Luxe: Brings you great fashion advice and tips on how to rock many pieces we see on the runway and in the magazines. Hey that dress was made to be worn by everyone, not just the models.

7) Being Pretty: If you’re looking for ways to enhance your natural beauty inside and out this girl has got it down to a tee.

8) An Itty Bitty Ditty: There is nothing itty bitty about her style, and large wardrobe!

9) M&E: Consider them the tumblr of wordpress if you will, great photos, great style. These two are planning something big here in the near future, my spidy senses are tingling.

10) Xpressions by Sarah: Her style is honestly so classy ALL the time! One visit to her blog and all you’ll want to do is shop!

Questions for my Nominee’s to answer are:

1) Why did you start your blog?
2) Did you tell your friends and family about it? Why/Why not?
3) A secret that you would tell your blog friends but not your real friends… untill now.
4) What makes you literally LOL (laugh out loud).
5) Share a fun fact.
6) What or who drives you?
7) What is your favorite quote?
8) Thanksgiving or Christmas?
9) One thing that you hope never changes.
10) If you could speak another language fluently what would it be?

Much love to all of you!

Spend the Weekend with Me :)

This weekend went by so quickly! I didn’t get a chance to post anything so I thought I would share my weekend with you lovelies with pictures. In this order, wedding, Sephora Haul, biddy the hedgehog, fall photo shoot and dinosaur sweatshirt. Intrigued? Read/view on.

20130929-233600.jpg

20130929-233617.jpg

Found this gorgeous dress last minute at Burlington Coat Factory, which is not what you would think it is, I’ve never actually bought a coat there. It’s a store with discount designer apparel and major discounted department store clothing, décor, just everything. I knew I wanted a long sleeve dress for the wedding and when I saw this chevron pattern I fell in love, I didn’t even look at the price because it was already bough in my mind. I paired this look with nude heels and red jewelry for a pop of color. I actually re-vamped this look by adding a chain necklace that I already owned as well as a chain link bracelet.

20130929-233710.jpg

20130929-233648.jpg

Love this guy, I really do. Can you believe we have been dating for 8 years now, time flies by. He writes some pretty good poetry, some of it is about me so of coarse that makes me love it even more, but it’s really good. Check it out here…. I mean if you’re into that sort of thing.

20130929-233722.jpg

The bride had some beautiful flower arrangements. She spray painted the vases herself. Via pintrest inspiration. I have my own pintrest wedding board already set for that special day, whenever that may be. :)

20130929-233628.jpg

Tired feet from dancing all night. The bride had some great music playing! Lets just call it a Frank Sinatra Pandora station if you will. There was also a photo booth which I thought was a GREAT idea, you got two prints, one which you placed on in a book for the bride and groom and the other you got to keep for yourself.

20130929-233731.jpg

In lieu of my photo-shoot (Haven’t had one of those in a while) I decided to update my make up routine/ get a mini make over the day before just for fun. This required a $50 dollar minimum purchase and of coarse when shopping at Sephora two items will get you there but it was WELL worth it. Every penny. Stay tuned for my Sephora beauty haul on my YouTube Chanel that is dedicated to this blog. View previous videos here.

20130929-233800.jpg

My Vox Box finally came in! It got lost in the mail. I also did a quick unboxing/ review on YouTube which you can see here.  I received these items complimentary from Influenster for doing a review on the type of toothbrush that I use. It’s amazing I really like it, I have used it before and I’m glad I now have another one. The bristles are the perfect size for getting in-between those hard to reach areas and the bristles are sooooo SOFT, it’s incredible.  I also received mouthwash and some whitening toothpaste. PS don’t let this color fool you, it’s not burgundy as you know I strongly dislike that color (on me) but it’s the color is OPI-I’m not a waitress.

20130929-233814.jpg

This weekend on Instagram I discovered an adorable hedgehog who travels the world with his lovely owner. It is his Instagram and all views are from his perspective. He is 2 years old incredibly smart and not to mention adorable. If you feel that you a missing something from your life, it just might be this little guy. Check him out. Also if you are on instagram please let me know! I’d love to follow you. Mine is glitzyspritzer . This and my friends wedding was probably the highlight of my weekend.

20130929-233843.jpg

20130929-233859.jpg

I also had a photo shoot today, something to add to my portfolio. Of coarse nothing too serious. I know a great photographer who is always willing to work with me on a whim. I had a great time. I’ve been meaning to get a nice camera and tripod for my OOTD pictures, but there are so many to choose from! Any suggestions?

20130929-233913.jpg

Don’t mind the gel in my hair, this was about 6 hours later, but I wanted to show you guys how amazing this foundation is. After 3 hours of changing, sweating AND posing the coverage lasted! Not to mention it lasted all day, I just washed it off at its 12:15am. I applied it at 9:00am this morning. I will definitely be going back to get this ( I got a sample) I usually only wear bare minerals if that, but I never wear cover up or foundation. I should because as you can see I have some light scaring but I just don’t like how heavy it makes my face feel but this, this is amazing. Smashbox Studio Skin. I wiped my forehead so you could see the difference, literally amazing. Bare minerals provides adequate coverage as well but it does not photograph well.

20130929-233920.jpg20130929-233749.jpg

So this brings me to the end, Sunday night. I threw on my Victoria Secret leggings, black moccasins and my favorite dinosaur sweatshirt (his name is Rex) which to be honest I wore to bed last night but I don’t care. Roar* Am I twelve you may ask no… I’m 24 come this Wednesday. Much love, night night, back to the daily grind tomorrow!

I was so moved by Michelle Phan’s YouTube video and everything that her product stands behind that I went to her website and checked out some of her products. At a little steep price of $75 you can get an amazing pallet with eye shadows, blushes and lip gloss in a flat case that fits great inside that tote purse you love to keep free of clutter ;) I haven’t actually made my purchase yet but I am so intrigued I might have to pinch a few pennies to try this out.
